Upton-upon-Severn - High Street & Old Street improvement works

Due to the current cold weather conditions, improvements works have been affected.  The work that was scheduled for Old Street yesterday and today has been postponed.

 

A new programme of works will therefore need to be put in place.

We will continue to update this blog on a daily basis and will provide information as soon as we can, notifying as to when the works will re-commence once the cold weather has started to clear.

Upton-upon-Severn - High Street & Old Street improvement works

Today we are returning to Old Street (west side) to continue excavation of the footway ready for the binder course to be laid. There will also be some kerb repairs.

This work will be carried out using two way temporary traffic lights.

Old Street will no longer be closed from Monday 11th to Friday 15th February. As a result of this and to minimise any potential disruption the works have been rescheduled to be carried out over the next three consecutive Sundays. These days being Sunday 10th,17th and 24th February and will be carried out under road closures.

The works being carried out today are located at High Street (east side by the White Lion Hotel), these consist of footway construction and kerbing works.

On Thursday and Friday of this week, we will be returning to Old Street (west side) to continue footway and kerbing works, this work will be carried out under two way temporary traffic lights.

Old Street will no longer be closed from Monday 11th to Friday 15th February. We will continue working on the east side of the High Street (White Lion Hotel side) excavating the kerbline and relaying new kerbs.

All this work can be done without the use of traffic signals or road closures and should not impede the traffic flow, due to the width of the High Street.

The road closure booked for Old Street for 4th February, 2013 has been put back a week to 11th February, 2013 due to the current flooding.

Today we will be working on the east side of the High Street (White Lion Hotel side) excavating the kerbline and relaying new kerbs.
