An improvement scheme to High Street and Old Street in Upton-upon-Severn has been programmed to be undertaken, with the works commencing on Monday 21st January 2013 with a duration of approximately two months.
The programme of works consists of the following:-
- Resurfacing of the carriageway and footway in the High Street and lower High Street to adjoin the Environment Agency scheme at the riverside.
- Re-kerbing of High Street, incorporating build-outs and new uncontrolled pedestrian crossing points.
- Associated drainage works in High Street.
- Resurfacing of footways in Old Street, up to its junction with Backfields Lane.
- Construction of a build-out in Old Street on the junction of Backfields Lane, also incorporating new uncontrolled pedestrian crossing points.
- Relocation of the bus stop currently located in Old Street, to the High Street.
- Incorporation of a new disabled parking bay in High Street.
- A new limited waiting parking bay in New Street.
- Installation of new finger post signs.
A permenant site office will be located on Old Street opposite the Baptist Church. A Public Liaison Officer will be visiting the site on a daily basis, plus the Foreman will be available to listen to and answer any concerns that you may have.
